There's no doubt about it.
Lockdown, the extension of restrictions and the general uncertainty here in Victoria has been a hard slog for all. Although at this point we are more than eager to get back to Photographing Weddings, we feel blessed to have been able to use this time to connect with those we admire in the industry. Through all the ups and downs one thing has remained, the inspiration we draw from Mariana Hardwick's bridal gowns.
We caught up with Rebekah, the Head Designer and Creative Director of Mariana Hardwick to learn more about this iconic Australian brand. Read on for more....
Behind the Brand
What was the inspiration behind Mariana Hardwick?
We are inspired by pushing the boundaries of bridal wear. From both a creative and technical perspective. We have this wealth of knowledge and expertise and we are so passionate about applying these skills to create gowns that are of the highest quality in craftsmanship with a unique and fashion forward edge.
Why is it important to you that your gowns are Australian made?
This gives us ultimate control of the quality and creative direction of the collections. We work so intimately as a team with cosnat and immediate feedback that allows an uninterrupted creative process. we have a loyalty to incredible makers, many of which have been with us for decades and we are committed to protecting their livelihoods and also the art of dressmaking in Australia
What advice would you give brides at this time?
We have been really supporting our brides to remain optimistic about the future of the industry and their weddings. We are doing everything possible to ensure that we are totally prepared when we can finally get fully back on board and weddings can be celebrated without restriction.
If not bridal wear, what?
Nothing really compares to the unique creative freedom you have in designing bridal collections and there is nothing more special than being part of a brides journey to their wedding day. We take great pride in giving every bride the most incredible experience and a gown that makes the look at feel amazing.
What do you want to be known for?
Our exceptional gown construction expertise, which you can feel every time you put on a MH gown. Its unmistakable, the fit, the fabric there is. quality that is unique to us.
What are you most excited to create?
We love to create gowns that explore new techniques that are unique to our team. For instance we are currently experimenting with waist cinching corset techniques that give the most incredible feeling of support and a stunning silhouette.
